API 5CT L80 tubing coupling is a connector for L80-grade tubing used in oil and gas wells. L80 is a medium-strength steel grade defined by API 5CT, offering a minimum yield strength of 80,000 psi (551 MPa). It is heat-treated (quenched and tempered) for enhanced strength and toughness, making it suitable for medium-pressure wells and mildly corrosive environments.
L80 tubing couplings are manufactured to API 5CT standards, ensuring quality, reliability, and interchangeability. They are available in two types: Type 1 (standard carbon steel) and Type 9 (chromium-based alloy with improved corrosion resistance). L80 is ideal for wells requiring higher durability than J55 but not as high as P110.
